Dirt Magnet

With the rise in the importance of stylish design of electronics there have been two recent trends. As consumers strive for the glossy or shiny look and touch screens on everything they buy this has resulted in a great increase in surfaces that succumb to easily looking dirty.

So many of the materials used, whether they be dark plastics, metal or glass panels, are magnets for fingerprints, grease and basically dirt in general.

What’s the answer? I’m no expert but given you can’t expect people to interact differently with your tech all you can really do is strive to develop new materials, new manufacturing techniques or just put up with it.

I find it a bit ironic that the appeal of these is they look expensive but they can end up looking cheap because they get grubby so fast!
